The 7th annual San Francisco International Piano Festival opens with a centennial celebration of Gabriel Fauré (1845-1924). Fauré's oeuvre contains many treasures both beloved and unfamiliar, from the enchanting first Nocturne to the imposing Theme and Variations, the disarming tenderness of the Dolly Suite to the ardor of his first violin sonata. This varied landscape of beauty is truly unique to Fauré's musical voice.
Festival favorite and authoritative interpreter Gwendolyn Mok will join artistic director Jeffrey LaDeur and special guest violinist Eric Chin. McKee Laureates and YCM alumni Sarah Yuan and Munan Cheng join us for this celebratory event. Bienvenue à tous!
